But then she responds to this interrogation-like scenario by saying, “This is a rebellion, isn’t it? I rebel.” And that’s when it’s confirmed - yes, Jyn Erso is legit. The footage begins with Felicity Jones as Jyn Erso. She’s handcuffed and being read a list of offenses that she’s apparently committed: “Forgery of Imperial documents, possession of stolen property, aggravated assault, resisting arrest.” At this point, she seems like she might be a little bit of a badass. Some of the things that should be titillating to long-time Star Wars fans: AT-AT walkers, the return of Mon Mothma, and the Death Star! Mixed in with those shout-outs to the past are some fresh and exciting elements - undoubtedly driving all kinds of speculation from Star Wars diehards - like this new black Stormtrooper. Seriously, though, what’s really great about the trailer is that we get a real, sizable look at the unique world and characters of Rogue One while also being shown elements that link this new movie to its predecessors. ![]() The trailer is a work of art that strikes that elusive balance between “Oh-my-goodness-yes-yes-yes,” and “Aaahhhh!” The editor who created the first trailer for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story deserves infinite high fives and pats on the back. ![]()
